The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Heraklion  (U.A.C.H.) established in 1927 and is one of the largest cooperative organizations in Greece.

It covers all areas of production, collection, processing, packaging and marketing of Cretan agricultural products (wine, olive oil, grapes, vinegar).
The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iraklion holds an important place for wine in the area of Heraklion. It owns a modern winery in an area of 5 hectares at municipality of Paliani, within the wine region of Protected Designation of Origin ( P.D.O. ) Dafnes.

UACH makes wine form the white grape varieties Vidiano, Vilana and Thrapsathiri and from the red Liatiko, Kotsifali, Mandilari, Merlot and Syrah.
Wines of UAC of Heraklion  have won awards in national and international competitions.
"Vinissimo" (sweet red wine) and “Mavroliatis” (dry red wine) are the brand names of the wines of classification "DAFNES PDO".
